Jerry Lee Reviews: House of the scorpion

This story is mainly talking about a cloned human's life. His name is called Matteo Alacran. His original host is called El Patron, who is already hundreds of years old, and also a very powerful drug lord. In the story, Matt has to face numerous challenges to survive in this strange human world. People around him discriminate and view him or the other clones as beasts. They are religious and think cloning violates the entire human life cycle. Matt learns a lot of philosophical things as he grows throughout the novel.
Celia, is his babysitter in the beginning of the novel, but after awhile, she ditched him because of him being a clone.Tam lin, his bodyguard, takes over afterwards and takes care of him. Tam Lin's a responsible character in this novel; he teaches matt a lot of things about living in this cruel world, how clones work in the society, and basic philosophies. He also discovers Matt's music talent and hired a professional music teacher.
Later on, Matt begins interact with human beings. He has a crush on Maria throughout the book and has a rivalry with Tom. Tom teases Matt a lot because of his identity (again), as Maria hangs out with Matt a lot. Matt tries to grab her attention, but accidentally killed her dog. Her dad then forbids Matt from seeing Maria again.
Throughout the novel, there are many scenes in which clones are discriminated. One example is when Matt is at the hospital and the nurse finds out that he's a clone. Without a doubt he gets rejected and thrown out the hospital. Celia doesn't really take care of him; she is afraid of clones. People view clones as beasts instead.
I recommend this novel to scientific fiction lovers. This novel deals with discrimination and a little bit of slavery also. People nowadays still argue whether they should clone living things or not. Overall, this book is fine.

Mention the name of the book in the first line for example instead of this story "The House of Scorpion is ..."
The beginning is a little confusing; explain the plot more so we can have a better understanding of the book while we read the rest of your review.
Talk about how believable your characters are. You dont really mention that here in your essay.
    Also you need quotes.

Good job on giving examples and elaborating on them.

Overall i wasnt really that convinced to read the book

  2. "Celia, is his babysitter in the beginning of the novel, but after awhile, she ditched him because of him being a clone." - change "ditched" to ditches. sentence suggestion: Celia, his babysitter, leaves Matt once she knew about him being a clone.
"Tam Lin's a responsible character in this novel; he teaches matt a lot of things about living in this cruel world, how clones work in the society, and basic philosophies." - I really like the structure of this sentence, but there is a simple grammar mistake. change "matt" to Matt.
There are no quotes in this essay so far. Make sure you include at least three quotes.
Great job on sentence structures, I like the different styles used.
Overall, I think it would be quite fascinating to read about clones.
