Kathy Chang/Promptless Writing

Drawing, sketching, painting; it’s all part of a person’s life. To me, art is an action of relaxation. There is no pressure when you draw, because it’s not homework! As long as I have a pencil in hand, I will keep on drawing and drawing like I’ve never stopped before. Art can even be a stress reliever. The pressure inside of you will float up into space as bubbles. When one draws you can create anything you want and no one can stop you from doing it. There is no limit and that unlimited imagination or creativity bursts out of you. Because of this unlimited imagination, art becomes a way of spreading thoughts into the world. I don’t need to spend time on it to paint or color in very detail. Just use a pencil and voila! There it is: your masterpiece is finished.
When I start sketching my whole brain is concentrated on that picture. Sketching with color pencils is pretty fun too. The way color blends in with one another, is very special. It’s as if the whole world is combined into one blob by me. Although, there are different styles of art, sketching is, by far the best tool in art. Because there is no need to go and buy a bunch of paintbrushes, paint, cloth, and all those other materials. With sketching, you can use one pencil, two, three, or even eight. If I use paint to paint a picture, it would take a long time for me to paint a picture with the exact colors. Mixing paint is really hard for me. That’s why I prefer sketching.
Although some people have no interest in art, art is an essential need in life. For example, vases are pieces of art, even the chairs, tables, and bookshelves. Let’s just say art is everywhere in our lives. Whoever says art isn’t part of our lives, should think about this twice or even thrice.

  1. My favorite sentence is: "To me, art is an action of relaxation". it sounds really flowy and cool because 'action' rhymes with 'relaxation', and it makes it kind of fun to read. ;d
I would take the comma out of the sentence: The way color blends th one another, is very speical". I don't really think it's needed, and it makes it sound sorta choppy.
And I like how you used a lot of figurative language. It makes your essay sound a lot more lively. :D

  3. To Kathy:

My favorite sentence is - "As long as I have a pencil in hand,... and no one can stop you from doing it." - because I completely agree with what you said. I have this same feeling as well when I draw, because one blank piece of paper can turn into something wonderful create by your own hand, and I also found what you said similar to my thoughts; fascinating!
I agree with what Sandra wrote above.
Also, the way you write makes the topic very exciting and fill with color.

I like the quote: "Drawing, sketching, painting; it’s all part of a person’s life. To me, art is an action of relaxation." I agree! Art is relaxation and part of a person's life.
I think the sentence that needs improvement is: "When one draws you can create anything you want and no one can stop you from doing it." The "one" should be changed to "you".
I think your essay makes the reader interested. I can tell you really like art in your essay. Same here, I like sketching with color pencils.
