David Yang-Reflective Writing

There are many items in the house which I live. There are fewer things which are dear to me. However, the object dearest to me would be my old Toshiba laptop. It had spray paint-silver paint, was mostly plastic, and had a Toshiba insignia on the center of the top of the laptop. It had a decent computing speed and suited my needs perfectly. I have several memories of how it became so dear to me. These memories seem as clear and crisp as a piece of glass glittering under the sunlight. The most powerful memory is of a project I did of Greek architecture and monuments. It was a particularly difficult project and I had trouble completing that arduous task. However, my computer saw me through it. Even though it died in the process, it provided me a convenient excuse to extend the due date of my project. My computer, frankly, made a great sacrifice for the sake of my project grade.

  2. Hi David!

"These memories seem as clear and crisp as a piece of glass glittering under the sunlight." I really like this quote because of your description and similie used in it. It makes me think that your computer is really really pro!
Overall, the main reason why I like your essay is because of the descriptions :)

  3. hi david~
    it's yerry
this is my favorite line, "Even though it died in the process, it provided me a convenient excuse to extend the due date of my project"
i love it how you extend a bizarre statement with such a sarcasm and humor.
    -your vocabulary usage is good
-the description of your laptop is detailed (or is it that i see it a lot?)
it's hard to find a line to change.

  4. I like this sentence "My computer, frankly, made a great sacrifice for the sake of my project grade." it shows that you know how to appriciate your belongings and that you are grateful.
However, you should state more examples of how your computer is dear to you and take out a bit of description :)
