I'm thinking of an object that's significant to me. I have the object in mind. That particular object is very rare, being the only one on this island, on this planet, and in the universe. The object has black wavy hair up to the shoulders, black Asian glasses, and a height of merely 5 feet. The face of the object possesses dark, mysterious, sad-looking, beautiful eyes, a pointy small nose, and a pair of lips juicy and fresh like a ripe pear. With evidence, that particular object is Jasmine Chen, also known as myself.
I am significant to myself in several ways. First, I carry memories, memories of special events, memories of certain settings through the five senses, and memories of important people, animals, or objects that appeared in my life. The memories that I can still recall lists from a broad range from the scent of my sister's clothes after she came back from U.S., the feeling of the flat, Pocahontas pillow I was sitting on, the sight of the Shubert Drive house in California, the sound of Kuma, my dog whining, and the taste of the slightly-bitter spagetti my mother just cooked two hours ago. Second, with myself, I can do just about anything. Possessing the ability to do just about anything, which also contains the ability to fly. "Just believe;" believe that you are flying, soaring in the broad sky and laxing on fluffy, white clouds. The key is to use imagination.
I love myself. With that particular object, I cant carry memories of significant events, settings, and people. In addition, I cant do anything, the "impossible is nothing." Thus, in dominion of Jasmine Chen, I nearby declare that Jasmine Chen, class of 2012, is significant to me.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite line is - "That particular object is very rare,... and a pair of lips juicy and fresh like a ripe pear." I like this part because its very descriptive and clear of the image you're trying to tell the reader. Since the start of this paragraph, the way you make it seem mysterious and had me curious of the object you're describing; caught my attention to read on. I think you could add a third subs for - "I am significant to myself in several ways. " Overall, I like how you start with describing the object instead of telling it right away.

ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine. My favorite line is "the feeling of the flat, Pocahontas pillow I was sitting on, the sight of the Shubert Drive house in California, the sound of Kuma, my dog whining, and the taste of the slightly-bitter spagetti my mother just cooked two hours ago." You really captured the imagery of your house, I can even imagine myself being there! XD
About your last sentence, "Thus, in dominion of Jasmine Chen, I nearby declare that Jasmine Chen, class of 2012, is significant to me." You said, "nearby" not "hereby".
Although I your essay is a bit dramatic to me, it's a well-written essay all the way through!
narcissic much? "Second, with myself, I can do just about anything. Possessing the ability to do just about anything, which also contains the ability to fly. "Just believe;" believe that you are flying, soaring in the broad sky and laxing on fluffy, white clouds. The key is to use imagination. I love myself." i like your optimism and self confidence.
ReplyDelete"I cant carry memories of significant events, settings, and people. In addition, I cant do anything, the "impossible is nothing." i was very confused... maybe you shouldnt add "i love myself" in the middle.
